This week I finally planted my rosemary bush and bought lavandar. I so, so hope, that the two of them can live in harmony...and live for that matter. I have a reputation of being a plant slayer in our family. My dad could grow corn from a handful of rocks. I'm certain that if plants had the ability to search for food I'd be in business.
We went on a little dog walking date like the old days. I really enjoy walking with Jeremy. He opted to take Ellie to the duck pond for some fun, and fun that little doxie had. Why she thinks she could actually sneak up on a duck, I will never know.
I don't think we enjoyed being home for an entire week for Mardi Gras break quite as much as Ellie enjoyed it. We (Ellie and I, Jeremy would take no part) decided to watch ever episode of Downton Abby yet again (I think I've seen the series 4 times) before the finale Sunday.
While I am one to hijack all cooking indoors and out, my man can grill a steak like no other. I can thank several years of fine dining experience in college for that. I wanted to make a blue cheese sauce for the ribeye, but let Jeremy win and settled for onions and mushrooms sauteed in butter. I need to post my pomme frites recipe, it makes the best fries you will ever eat outside of a nice restaurant.
This little lady makes me say yeay, he face just kills me.
While we opted out of the Mardi Gras crazy, we still bought a cream cheese king cake...yum!
Last but not least, for those of you who read via readers...I did some blog editing and I'm pretty smug about it:)
