I'm currently on day 11 of Whole 30 and feeling really good. One of the big positives is that I've seen Harrison have to take less gas medicine.
So who knows if it's the dairy, wheat, or beans... but he isn't having quite the trouble he previously was. Granted I still give him one dose at bedtime, but it's not at nearly every feed like it was two weeks ago. Plus his diapers have become more regular and it's seems to be easier for him to go.
But enough about baby poop.
The issue I tend to run into with Paleo or Whole 30 is the fact that I just can't afford to have top of the line organic and free range died happy everything.
The Paleo approved prepacked brands of meat everyone raves about are out of my price range and no where to be found around here. I just can't stomach driving 30 minutes to find a grocery store than carries other things.
So we make do.
And make we did when I grabbed a package of ground pork and made breakfast sausage that was Jeremy approved.
And not much is Jeremy approved.
Whole 30 Breakfast Sausage
Ingredients::
1 lb ground pork
1 tsp ground sage
1/2 tsp ground thyme
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp kosher salt
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1 tsp smoked paprika (or use whatever kind you have on hand)
a few dashes of cayenne pepper to taste
Directions::
Brown meat with all seasonings mentioned above on medium heat in a large skillet until cooked through.
**We aren't nutmeg people, but some people are. If you want to add a dash of nutmeg that would be right up there with store bought breakfast sausage taste.
